Quick answer
What you'd use from day one: the Thomson-East Coast Line at Woodlands South, roughly a five-minute walk once the gates are known, Woodlands Hospital close by, and Causeway Point and the bus interchange one stop up. Still to come: the RTS Link to Johor Bahru, expected from February 2027 subject to approvals; JTC's Woodlands Gateway, first phase around 2030; and URA's Woodlands Regional Centre, with no completion date. They can reshape the area over years, but none sets the price of any one home.
The options at a glance
Option 1
Open now
The train, the hospital, the shops and the parks you'd use from the day you move in.
Option 2
Still to come
The RTS Link, the Woodlands Gateway and the regional centre, with dates only where the agencies give them.
Option 3
Next door or next town?
The RTS Link and the Gateway are two MRT stops away, at Woodlands North.
Key takeaways
- Open now: the Thomson-East Coast Line's Woodlands stations (Stage 1, since January 2020), the Woodlands bus interchange (June 2021), Woodlands Hospital (officially opened July 2024), Causeway Point, Admiralty Park and Woodlands Waterfront Park.
- RTS Link: LTA and Malaysia's Ministry of Transport now expect passenger service in February 2027, subject to independent safety certification and final approvals. LTA's older project page still says end 2026.
- Woodlands Gateway: JTC expects the first phase around 2030. URA's plan for Woodlands as a regional centre has no completion date.
- The RTS Link and the Gateway are at Woodlands North, two stops from Woodlands South: good for the region, but a trip rather than a walk from Wynwood Grand.
- None of this sets a price for Wynwood Grand or any other home.
| Stage | What | Status, as the source puts it | From Wynwood Grand |
|---|---|---|---|
| Open now | Thomson-East Coast Line, Woodlands stations (Stage 1) | Open since 31 Jan 2020 | Woodlands South, roughly a 5-minute walk (estimate) |

| Open now | Woodlands Hospital | Opened in stages from Dec 2023; officially Jul 2024 | A short walk (about 390 m as the crow flies) |
| Open now | Causeway Point | Open | At Woodlands station, one stop away |
| Open now | Admiralty Park; Woodlands Waterfront Park | Open | about 2.0 km and about 3.3 km as the crow flies |
| Coming | RTS Link to Johor Bahru | Passenger service expected Feb 2027, subject to safety certification and approvals | Woodlands North, two stops on the TEL |
| Proposed | Woodlands Gateway (JTC) | First phase expected around 2030 | Around Woodlands North, two stops on the TEL |
| Proposed | Woodlands Avenue 2 white site | On URA's Reserve List (2H2026), not sold | By Woodlands station, one stop away |
| Proposed | Woodlands Regional Centre (URA) | A plan; no completion date | Across Woodlands, in four precincts |
Source: RTS Link passenger service targeted for February 2027, subject to independent safety certification and final regulatory approvals (update of 2 Oct 2026) (Land Transport Authority and Malaysia's Ministry of Transport), Released 2 Oct 2026. Extracted 20 Oct 2026.
'Coming' and 'Proposed' rows are plans or targets, not completion dates. A Reserve List site is put up for tender only when a developer applies with an acceptable minimum price. The walking time is an estimate until CDL's gates are known; other distances are straight lines from the middle of CDL's site. LTA's older RTS Link project page (5 May 2025) still gives end 2026.
This guide is for
- Families weighing Wynwood Grand who cross to Johor Bahru, work in the north or use Woodlands Hospital
- Woodlands HDB owners deciding whether to stay in the area
It is not for
- Anyone looking for a price forecast: this page doesn't give one
What you need to decide
- Where each person works or studies, and how often anyone crosses to Johor Bahru
- Which places the family uses every week: hospital, polyclinic, school, shops
Step by step
- 1
Start with what's open
What you'd use from the first day
The table at the top of this page lists what's open and what's still to come, with each status as its source puts it.
For daily life at Woodlands Drive 17, the Thomson-East Coast Line makes the biggest difference: Woodlands South station should be roughly a five-minute walk, depending on where CDL puts the gates, and the line goes into town without a change of train. One stop north, Woodlands station has the North-South Line, Causeway Point and the bus interchange.
- 2
Then what's still to come
With dates only where the agencies give them
The RTS Link's Singapore station is at Woodlands North, two stops up the Thomson-East Coast Line. LTA and Malaysia's Ministry of Transport now expect passenger service in February 2027, after final tests and trial runs, and subject to independent safety certification and final approvals. JTC's Woodlands Gateway, up to 35 hectares around the RTS Link and Woodlands North stations, has its first phase expected around 2030. URA's guidelines describe the Woodlands Regional Centre as the economic hub of Singapore's Northern Gateway, in four precincts, but its Master Plan 2025 gives no timeline. Closer in, a white site by Woodlands station is on URA's Reserve List for the second half of 2026; URA SPACE lists about 440 homes and 78,000 sq m of commercial space for it, but it goes to tender only if a developer applies for it.
- 3
Next door, or next town?
Keep the two apart
A big project at Woodlands North can bring jobs, services and an easier crossing to Johor Bahru for the whole region. Whether it changes your own routine depends on whether anyone in the family will go there often. From Woodlands Drive 17 it's a short train ride, two stops from Woodlands South, rather than a walk.

What the plans don't tell you
Plans and prices
None of these plans sets the price of Wynwood Grand, or what an EC bought now will sell for later. That depends on the market when you buy and sell, on the unit itself and on the EC rules. Take the dates as the agencies give them, and check again before you decide.
If you're comparing HDB flats in Woodlands instead, the same plans are weighed in Woodlands in 2026-2027: NSL, TEL, RTS Link and the Master Plan.
- 5
Where to next
Back to the project, or to your own flat
The project and daily life around it: Wynwood Grand at Woodlands Drive 17. If you own a flat in Woodlands: your move to Wynwood starts with your current flat.
Common mistakes
- Counting on a planned project as if it were already open.
- Reading a regional plan as a promise about one home's price.
- Using LTA's older end-2026 date for the RTS Link after the February 2027 update.
Questions to ask your bank, lawyer or agent
- 1.James: which of these actually changes my family's week, and does that change which home I should buy?

Case study
635B Senja Road to Copen Grand: buying an EC while still living in the HDB flat
Step 1: Challenge
So the sale had to meet the bridging loan's timeline, while the family still needed somewhere to live until Copen Grand was ready.
Step 2: Strategy
The bridging loan's timeline set when the flat had to be sold.
Step 3: Result
The flat was sold for S$642,000.
